The Times Literature Festival-Delhi, the capital’s biggest celebration of writers and the written word, and an eagerly awaited event in the city’s calendar, will be back soon. The fifth edition of the two-day literature festival will take place on November 30 and December 1, 2019.

With an impressive line-up of more than 150 authors, including participation by authors from 16 countries, more than 70 sessions and 30 workshops, this year’s edition of the Times Litfest-Delhi promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Among the star attractions will be Javed Akhtar, William Dalrymple, Chetan Bhagat, Devdutt Pattanaik, Ashwin Sanghi, Anand Neelakantan, Ravinder Singh, Ravi Subramanian, Shobhaa De, Preeti Shenoy, Manu Pillai, and many more. The husband and wife team of Michael and Diana Preston, better known to aficionados of historical fiction by their nom de plume, Alex Rutherford, will speak on their passion for Indian history and their blockbuster series on the Mughal dynasty.

There will be a sizeable contingent from the film industry, with Gulshan Grover dwelling on his journey from Delhi boy to Bollywood’s favourite ‘bad man’. Lisa Ray will open up on her fight with bulimia and cancer, and many other issues that cut close to the bone. Deepika Padukone, Boney Kapoor and Gauri Shinde will launch a biography of Sridevi that charts her eventful life.

Apart from interactive sessions with bestselling authors, thought leaders, and renowned poets and artists, other attractions will include storytelling sessions, a specially curated corner for book readings and an immersive experience on “Walking through Akbar’s court”. The festival will also have a specially-crafted workshop on illustrations by Delphine Renon of France and Eva Sanchez Gomez of Spain. Additionally, there will be a culinary workshop with renowned British Indian chef-author and TV show presenter Romy Gill.

As always, Times LitFest-Delhi will transform the capital into a platform for literature to resonate. Be sure to be there!

Times Litfest Delhi, presented by Rajnigandha, will be held on Nov 30 and Dec 1, 10am onwards at India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road. Entry is free. Details available at www.TOI.in/TimesLitfestDelhi
